Welcome Back

Welcome Back 2017-09-03T09:44:00+00:00

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.  We are so excited to welcome back all of our St. Bernadette families and we extend a warm welcome to the many new families joining use this year.  Our community welcomes you and we look forward to an amazing school year together.  This year we welcome back many returning faces to our staff but we are also excited to introduce you to some new staff members as well.  Please look for a complete list of our staff members coming to you in our September newsletter, which will be emailed and printed to our families.  It will also be available our school website during the first week of school.  School begins this Tuesday, September 5th at 9:10 a.m.

Opening Procedures
On the first day of school, students will assemble outside on the back playground and will be greeted by their classroom teacher at 9:10 a.m. Students will then be escorted inside the school at the bell.  Parents are kindly asked to stay outside once the students have been escorted into the school.  If it is raining, students will go directly inside the school.

The safety of our children is number one priority and for that reason we are seeking your assistance at the end of the day when picking up your child(ren).  We are asking that you have a meeting place established with your child.  All of our walking students (JK/SK exemption) will be dismissed out at the back doors.  If you could have a designated area either at the back of the front of the school where your child(ren) can meet will help.

Construction
The City of Kitchener is currently making road and sewer improvements in front of our school.  Please note the section in front of the school is closed and only open to local traffic.  We ask that you follow this direction and use the adjacent side streets for arrival and departure purposes.  We will only have one driveway open and it will be used for staff, busses and visitors only to our school.  The driveway will not be used for arrival and departure purposes for our community.  We ask that you cooperate with the directions and signs posted and if you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Principal at the school or John Stevenson at the City of Kitchener (519)-741-2200 ext. 7694.
