Week At A Glance October 2nd to 5th

Greeting Saints Families and Friends:

Thanksgiving Day is coming up on Monday, October 9th .  We would like to take this opportunity to wish God’s blessings upon you and your families and friends as you take time in a special way this weekend to give thanks for all the blessings we have.

We be collecting food for St. Vincent DePaul as part of our parish.  Non-perishable food items will be collected beginning tomorrow.  the following are identified as most pressing needs: canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meats, beans in sauce and rice.  Thank you for your continued support of our community out-reach initiatives.

On Tuesday, we our encouraging everyone to wear an orange shirt.  It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential schools and the legacy they have left behind.  It grew out of Phyllis’ story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at a residential school, and it has become an opportunity to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually. We hope by bringing awareness that we can show that ‘Every Child Matters.’ Please wear orange on October 3rd, 2017.  Please follow the click to read more about it http://www.orangeshirtday.org/

We will also continue with practicing our emergency procedures this week with a school lockdown.  Last week we successfully conducted three fire evacuation drills.

This Friday is also World Teacher’s Day.  I invite you to reflect on the remarkable teacher(s) in your life. Say a prayer for them. Thank you to all of our teachers who each and every day bring hope to their learners.
