Our annual Terry Fox Run/Walk will be on Thursday, September 21, 2017 this year. The Terry Fox run takes place across Canada and around the world each year. Terry Fox was a young adult with cancer who attempted to complete a marathon across Canada with a prosthetic leg. Sadly, part way through his journey the cancer returned and he was forced to stop. Today we continue his journey by organizing Terry Fox runs or walks in our communities as a huge fundraiser for cancer research. At St. Bernadette we will be walking in the afternoon in our school yard. We are asking students to bring in a minimum $2 donation, a “Toonie for Terry”. Any student who brings in a donation, will receive a ballot to be “Principal for a Day”. This year we have set a Terry Fox Run goal of $500.
Students are asked to give their toonie (or other donation) to their teacher in the morning. Please support our “Toonies for Terry” campaign as you are able and help find a cure for cancer. Families also have the option of making their donation through school cash online. Let’s show that, at St. Bernadette, we make a difference! Please call the school with any questions.
