The CHRISM MASS last evening at the Cathedral in Hamilton was a beautiful experience. The sacramental oils were blessed and I brought them back with me. They will be presented to the parish at the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper. During the celebration, we priests renewed our vow of obedience to the Bishop.
The Diocese has placed a proposal on the table for St. Joseph Church. Because it is only a “proposal”, there will be no public announcement yet (or until/unless it is finalized). However, as parish leaders you need to know and understand the implications of what is being discussed at the diocesan level. It is also essential to give your feedback.
There will be the following 15-minute information sessions in these next few days:
– Tuesday (yes, tonight) following 7:00 pm Mass in the Church;
– Wednesday, March 28, 6:30 pm, before the choir practice;
– Thursday, March 29 (Holy Thursday), 6:00 pm before the 7:00 pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper;
All sessions will take place in the Parish Hall. I hope you can attend one of these sessions. The short presentation will be given by me: no one from the Diocese will be present at this meeting.
There will be a further meeting with diocesan officials, scheduled for Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 pm. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
Your valuable input in these next few weeks will be much appreciated.
