The new theme for the Umbrella Project for November is Growth Mindset. Having a growth mindset (the belief that you are in control of your own ability, and can learn and improve) is the key to success. Yes, hard work, effort, and persistence are all important, but not as important as having that underlying belief that you are in control of your own destiny. The attached link shows a video to help explain Growth Mindset to your child(ren)

The Saint John’s Bible is the first completely hand written and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine Abbey since the invention of the printing press. The Bible is divided into seven volumes and is two feet tall by three feet wide when open. A copy of the Bible has been presented to the Pope at the Vatican in several volumes, with the first volume being presented on April 17th, 2015. We at St. Bernadette are fortunate to have a copy coming to our school. Students will have the opportunity to view this work of art close and to participate in activities. There will be a whole school presentation on November 7th at 10:40 a.m. after which the Bible will be in the library where students will do their activities with their classes. Families are welcome to the presentation or stop by the library on Thursday evening during student-parent-teacher conferences until 8:00 p.m.
Have a great week!
