This Tuesday, February 25th, parent volunteers will be serving pancakes to the entire school for Shrove Tuesday. Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. Shrove Tuesday is a day of celebration and day to feast before Lent starts.
It has been a tradition at our school for many years, we have begun the Lenten season by preparing this special treat. Pancakes will be served with syrup. Each class will be invited into the gym , where students will be served at different times of the morning. The pancakes are a “treat” not a lunch replacement. Students who bring a lunch to school need to bring a lunch on this day as well. If you child has an allergy to pancake mix and/or syrup, please be sure to inform their classroom teacher to make alternate arrangements.
We are asking all students to bring in a reusable plate/container and utensils for their pancakes. By reducing the amount of garbage, we can continue to be stewards of the environment.
We are looking forward to another delicious pancake morning for the students to enjoy. Thank you to our volunteers including Mike O’Toole and Lisa McKay (coordinators) for continuing this wonderful school activity!
