The students of St. Bernadette Catholic  School will be participating in a “Terry Fox Walk/Run” in support of Cancer Research. Everyone has been affected somehow by the harsh realities of this terrible disease. Our efforts to raise funds will make a difference in the fight against cancer, and our involvement in this worthwhile activity will give cancer patients the gift of hope.

On Thursday, September 27th beginning after morning recess, all students will walk or run at the back of our school.  Students will be asked to walk/run the perimeter of our school yard. Please donate a  toonie on or before Thursday, September 27th.   All money raised will be donated directly to The Terry Fox Foundation to support cancer research.

Students are asked to dress appropriately for the weather. Parents are welcome to participate in this event as well. Thanks for your support!!!

First Communion Invitation

Dear families,
In our Catholic faith, grade two (around age seven) is commonly when children first receive the sacraments of Reconciliation (Confession) and Holy Eucharist. As a parish, we are happy and privileged to partner with you and St Bernadette in preparing your children for these sacraments.

If your child in grade 2 or above and would like to receive First Reconciliation and First Communion this year, please plan to attend our Parent and Child Information Session on Tuesday, October 2 at 6 pm in the Church Hall. Registration packages will be distributed at this meeting.

Below you will find the link to the letter that was sent home, along with our schedule of planned sessions and dates. Anyone wishing their child to receive this sacrament must attend this meeting with their child, or will need to set up a make-up meeting.

If you have questions about these sacraments or are still considering, we encourage you pray about it and to come to the meeting so that you can make a carefully discerned decision. You are also welcome to speak with Father Brian or Mary for further information and guidance.

Know that all of the students at St Bernadette are in our prayers, as are their families and communities.

In faith,
Mary Forcier
Youth Minister, St Joseph Church
